Eddie Hardin who died of a heart attack on Thursday (23rd) aged 66, replaced Stevie Winwood as the keyboard player, primarily the Hammond organ, in the Spencer Davis Group. Following “musical differences” in 1968, he formed a duo with drummer Pete York, also ex-SPG, called – what else? – Hardin & York (The World’s Smallest Big Band).
They continued playing with an augmented line-up (video) until last month.
